If you have access to run cgi scripts, and you have an irc server (or know
of one that you can connect to, such as efnet, dalnet, etc) you can setup
cgi irc. If you would prefer to run your own server, you may wish to get a
shell account of sort. Have a look at: http://cgiirc.sourceforge.net/

In the case that you can' run cgi scripts from your webspace, a bit of
shell providers include some webspace which likely lets you run cgi scripts.
If that's the case, then you could setup say chat.yourdomain.com (or
varient) and have it linked to your main site.

Hiya seeing your post on the NewsGroup thought i would message you to
tell you about BackPack on from the People from WebMaster INC, .. This
is the most easyest way of creating a FREE Web Based ChatRoom for your
Website.. The URL for this is www.webmaster.com then click products
then Click BACKPACK in a couple of minutes tweaking away you will have
sucessfully created a piece of code you Copy and Paste to your website
and then all you do is Join the WEBCHAT Server going to
irc.webmaster.com with your mIRC client then join your channel... Then
you can then either register you nickname and then Register your
channel so you have full control over your room... But on the other
hand if you do not want this i suggest you search around the internet
for some alternatives.. But as you said you dont care about money you
may want to buy a shell and host a server your self either using the
ConferenceRoom software which is recommended by my self or search for
something else.. At the end of the day its up to you but i suggest if
you do not know much about IRC do the BackPack buisness.. Anyway thats
all from me...

Lee
